Lila's first bedtime story was read to her by her father tonight... was it written by Dr. Seuss? no. Was it a story? no. Was it a little light political theory by Karl Marx? Duh... It's what happened to be on the top of the book pile by his bed.
She fell asleep in my arms after the first page - Andrew's voice is very soothing to her. I however made him continue to read it to me and then ask questions. I made Andrew talk out the problematic parts of Mr. Marx's theories for me. And Karl's amazing foresight for globalization. The definition of neo-liberalism. And so on.
It was the most informative hour I've had in a while. It was also really nice to use my brain a little (I'm not just food for Lila?!?)
And it made me feel very blessed to have such a sweet lucky little girl, who has such a knowledgeable father.
