So as it turns out it's not so easy to find time to download pictures and write entries when there is a newborn around. But it has to be easier then when there is a 2-year-old running around getting into constant trouble.

| Andrew saying goodbye |

In the last 2 weeks Andrew said goodbye to his Lumina. We donated it to our local PBS station. Lila never knew the car but it was the car Andrew drove from NJ to PA for college... for his BA. He drove it all through college and then escaped the east coast in it after college, when he drove it out to WY. After numerous drives across the country together from WY to NJ and back, they made it out to Seattle for his graduate work... it probably would have lived to see him get his Ph.D, but it has been driven only a handful of times since we brought the Subaru home 2 years ago. So it was time to donate it.
As for Lila she is being a very easy baby. She has her fussy times but really only cries when she is hungry, cold or needs a diaper change. We have been working on our
tummy time. At first when I'd put her on her tummy she would just fall asleep. But now she will lay there for 5 min, then start to work her legs and arms for about 5 min and then she starts to grunt and babble as she really starts to wiggle, it's pretty funny to watch and listen to. After a bit she does seem to get tired and frustrated and will cry. I usually just turn her over on her back and she seems exhausted but is once again content. Yesterday I encouraged Andrew to have her do some tummy time on his stomach while they were on the couch watching football. Apparently she lifted her head to look at him and gave him a huge smile. "Look Dad! Look what I'm doing!!" She seems to realize that lifting her head is an accomplishment and feels really proud of herself.

| Eat mor Chick-fil-a |
In other Lila developmental news: She finaly noticed the cows I hung from her swing. I switched out the pastel moon and stars that hung there with Chick-fil-a cows that I had laying around the house (I had a few) because babies can't see pastle colors (what were you thinking Fisherprice?!?). When she did finally see the black and white cows she smiled. So as silly as they look, and as much as they are propaganda for Chick-fil-a, they are helping Lila with her eye development and tracking skills. However if she grows up to become a vegitartian or doens't like red meat I will probably have to blame myself and Chick-fil-a.
I will continue to take pictures and announce major milestones. It's hard sometimes for me to realize how much she is changing every week because it is so gradual day to day, night to night.
